I want to be taught

You echo the words of  a textbook

Yet you expect me to produce innovation

You diminish my words, ideas, and emotions into a vapid letter

Yet you expect me to be affected by your lectures

You humiliate me when I am clearly confused

Yet you expect me to "actively participate"

You say these lessons are preparation for life

Yet you expect me to waste my life away with busywork

I do not care, don't you see?

All you say is meaningless to me

I want to see and feel the world

Not be stuck in this institution in which I'm hurled

I mean no direspect at all

But when did it become your job to instruct?

Your title is teacher

I want to be taught
