I, Too, Sing

Location

I, too, sing hope.

I see the struggle straight ahead.
So many choices, so much to dread.
I leap, I fly, twist and turn,
Escape the fire, and do not burn.

They say someone has it worse;
Seems like we’re all under a curse.
Our feelings are heavy,
And joy is what we envy.

There’s too much lost, not enough gained.
There’s so much sorrow, too many pained.
What can we do in this sea of misery?
The slide is fast, and the climb is slippery.

Hand in hand, we must stand.
They can’t knock us down; we are a band,
Of lovers, dreamers, beauties, and believers.
We have no troubles; we are no longer grievers.

Yesterday is gone.
Today, we start at dawn.
Happiness is soon to come,
Our hearts as strings, I’m ready to strum.

I, too, sing hope.
