i told the stars...

but i told the moon,

i told the stars,

that you had left your mark.

look at us now,

strangers from afar,

not even the stars,

can mend our scars.

when we danced,

dripping wet

in the pouring rain,

hand in hand,

heart to heart,

while the moon listened to our

feet pounding against the concrete

and our laughs echoing throughout

the neighborhood i once loved,

did it mean nothing?

when we drove,

drove and drove and drove,

speaking of everything and anything

singing to the awful songs you liked.

the stars listened to our

voices screaming melodies of love

and our laughs following us through the countryside,

did it mean nothing?

i guess it was nothing to you,

but to me,

i told the moon,

i told the stars...
