I Stood
I stood next to the Grand Canyon and
I tossed my troubles in--
what had once been large to me was now a grain of sand.
I stood next to our presidents in monumental form
and I wondered their opinion
of the world into which I was born.
I stood on top of a mountain,
wide-eyed, alive, and free
and decided this was the me I always wanted to be
I stand much differently now than when the trip began
I take my cares for what they are and alleviate my stress
I look to me role models and remeber to say "I can."
I take each day with long strides and remember to grow.
This poem is about:
Me
My country
Our world
