I Still Love You

I sent you a text last nightIt wasn’t muchNot eloquently spokenBut my hope was to bring your hopes upI sent you a text last nightRambling on how the world isHow much you may miss herI sent you a text last nightCompletely platonic with no ulterior motivesI will just shoulder the burdens you give meAnd I shall cradle them in my armsAnd fix your heartMake it on the mendMake what's broken whole againI still love you thoughDon’t get my words twisted like a tangle of twineI still long for your arms to wrap aroundEntangling every limbI still long for your lips on mineFor your eyes are a copperA copper mine of love and lifeAnd your lips which crack into a smile
