I See My Dreams

I see my dreams, shimmering and bright

I see my dreams and smile with delight

I run to her, with open arms and kiss her delicate lip

I release a cry, straight from my heart, as I hear it savagely rip

I see my dreams, shimmering and bright

I see my dreams cast into the night

I glance around, bewildered and distraught

I find him there, the demon I have always fought.

I see my dreams, shimmering and bright

I see my dreams, crushed before my sight

I look at my father, and inside I feel the fire

I tower over him, my courage growing higher

I cast him out into the emptiness and cold

I leave him to die there, bitter and old

I search for my dreams, shimmering and bright

I search for my dreams, nowhere in sight

I hear her voice, calling from the black

I know she'll wait for me, until I finally come back
