I never asked for this

i never asked for this
the dirty looks in the hallway
the self-loathing i constantly feel
the unnecessary attention
the way that i look in the mirror and see someone else
the voice that doesn't belong to me
the tears that stain my pillow
the fact that i am physically unable to be myself until i am older
the way i have to hold back in public in fear of being physically or verbally attacked

i never asked for this
but i got it anyway
