I Need a Hero
Heros don’t need a cape or powers
Heros don’t need a lot of money
Hero’s don’t need a cute face or a tragic backstory
Heros don’t need an education
Heros don’t need popularity
Heros don’t need a secret identity, to hide their true selves
Heros don’t need to be filmed, or interviewed by the press
Heros need courage to do the right thing
Heros need love, to motivate their actions
Heros need morales, to make the right decision
Heros need humbleness, to sacrifice for another,
Heros need quick wits, to fly into action
Heros need a mother, to show them how to love
Heros can be mothers, whose love powers their lives
Heros can be fathers, showing their children the ropes of life
Heros can be siblings, setting good examples and passing on wisdom
Heros can be pets, whose loyalty is everlasting
Heros are dirty, covering with a day’s hard work
Heros are tailors, letting humans express themselves
Heros are chefs, fueling the world’s energy
Heros are grocery owners, baggers, or stockers, making sure the world has food
Heros can be blind, showing others how to see new things
Heros can be deaf, making their own beautiful music
Heros can be hungry, teaching people about kindness
Heros can have lost limbs, teaching how to love what you have
Heros can be lame, enjoying the scenery
Heros can be delusional, making dreams seem true
Heros can be suicidal, wanting peace for themselves and the world
Heros should be the kid in the corner, observing everyone's personalities
Heros should be teachers, letting kids imagine and learn about life
Heros should be unrecognised, making the world better a little at a time
Heros should be friends, encouraging new experiences
Heros should be musicians, creating new love in every song
A HERO SHOULD BE YOU, READING THIS POEM AND RECOGNISING YOURSELF IN THESE WORDS
Get up
Get out
Show everyone who you are
Shine bright
Change the world
BE A HERO
