I Miss You.

You're all alone,

the world doesn't understand.

Your father kicked you out because you have a drug problem.

Instead of helping, he made it worse.

You cry yourself to sleep at night, silently.

Silent, so your friends can't hear you.

It's a different couch every night, sometimes no couch.

Maybe a park bench, or under a bridge.

You come to school, like nothing is wrong.

This is the one place you are accepted.

Weird, right?

But now, I don't even see you here.

I see you on the street, skipping classes while I'm looking out the classroom window.

I say hi to you, try to encourage you to come back.

This is your one chance to change.

But you will not take this chance to change.

You will let your father be correct about you.

You will be nothing.

Nothing but homeless.

You will regret this.

And it makes me mournful.

I miss my friend.
