I, Me, and You

If I could change the world,

There’s one thing I would do.

Change the shift of focus,

From “Me” and “I” to “You”.

To stop the selfish wanting,

To halt the desperate grabs.

To cease all pointless squabbles,

And join ourselves in hands.

When we work together,

There’s nothing we can’t do.

Everyday an adventure,

Exciting things of new.

I know we can achieve it,

It’s not that far at all.

But if we hate each other,

Our humanity shall fall.

To change the world, you ask?

It’s not a pointless dream.

It’s something we accomplish,

As a single team.

Not by one or two,

Or three or four or five.

But all of us together,

Like works of a busy hive.

Now I challenge all,

A simple task to see.

All I ask of you,

Is put the “You” before the “Me”.

Then when this is done,

Darkness shall be gone.

A new era of peace,

A new exciting dawn.
