I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings,Too

I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings,Too

I know why

the caged bird sings,too.

For I am she.

Trapped,with no wings

who's voice cries out

for the unknown

longing to break free

from her home;

To scale the wearied

skies so high

no one can pin her down.

Return my clipped wings!

I demand!

that I can drink the clouds

above the land,

beyond the mountains

and through the sands;

that time and space

cant hold me back

from my destiny.

I know why

the caged bird sings ,too.

'cause from this cage,

her dreams are broken,

too.

Her freedom song screams,

quietly

cause she knows

all she wants

what she will strive for

relentlessly

what she will die for

'till the black cage shatters

what she will give her life for

Yes! She is I

and what I want is

to fly.
