I Know Not Your Life's Tale

I know not your life's tale,
You speak not of your youth
But our friendship is not stale
And it's not lacking in truth ,

Your smile is a sharp blade
Hiding a golden tongue
When the mystery starts to fade,
I think we'll no longer be young

The days pass by with more ease,
It strikes me as really quite strange
Not just because of you, oh, please
But perhaps you were a catalyst for change

Despite your tickling and jokes,
You're really a brilliant friend,
It's nearly like a hoax:
But one I'd hope to not end
