I Just Want Acceptance

Location

Laughter. All I hear is laughter.

Girls snicker at me and look away to whisper.

Boys point at me. What did I ever do to deserve this?

I just want acceptance, to walk into school with pride.

Teachers, they just look away and act like they don't see it.

They know the truth, but what do they do? They turn their backs.

I just want acceptance, where I wear my favorite outfit with confidence.

When I get kicked down, I wish someone yould pick me up.

I just want acceptance, where friends all dress like me to make a statement.

I just want acceptance. That's all any student wants.
