I Have No Eyes and I Must Love
Nobody knows you like I do because I can see you
Your wholesome smile, heavenly figure, and altruistic demeanor
Those you are all known for
But I know you
The heartwarming kindness to all you
The loving and caring to all you
The positive and optimistic, helpful, hopeful, and happy to all you
But all is every all but yourself
You are kind but harsh with the words you use to describe yourself
You are loving and caring yet I’ve never seen someone so neglected
You are everything but in the mirror you look like nothing
You can’t see yourself
At least not like i do
A mirror doesn’t do you justice
Take my eyes, make me blind
I can’t see now, but now you can
What do you see?
With my own eyes what can you see?
Crystal clear shadows? The back of your own head?
I know what I see. I’ve always been certain.
I know what I see. I’ve always been certain.
I know what I see. I’ve always been certain.
So tell me now: “what do you see”? I guess a better question is: “where did you put my eyes”? If on your face, maybe you’ll see the world. If on your feet, maybe you’ll see me or darkness. Maybe you put them inside your body. If so, your soul would be in perfect vision. But I’m afraid. Don’t lock my eyes away. I see you. You wouldn’t lock my eyes in a box; a box kept closed by lock and key. You wouldn’t betray my trust; in fact, I know you wouldn’t! My eyes do not deceive me because you are who my eyes say you are.
If you are faceless, then I am all of you
Your ears
Your nose
Your mouth
Your eyes
Look in the mirror now and tell me what you see
An amalgamation of pure beauty?
Do you see yourself?
Or do you see nothing?
Can you finally see yourself?
I now know you
You chewed my eyes and I now know you
My eyes dilated, you chewed my eyes, and I now know you
Nobody knows you like I do because I can see you
