not one of those
famous ones that can
save the human race
or make this world
a better place

there is darkness
all around me but
there in the distance
i see a light
barely in existence

the light gets bigger
and the shell that
was once my cage
is ripped open with
such intense rage

the emptiness inside me
gets filed up with
such a powerful light
shining i have never
felt so bright

the rain from my
face has never tasted
so clean i touch
my chest how i
missed so much

i’m free of this
prison this nightmarish hell
i finally can see
the sun that was
hidden from me

and sometimes it’s real
