I Hate Myself

Location

“I hate myself”

Words spoken by too many teenagers every day.

Girl or boy it’s all the same.

They don’t realize the beauty

The true light that’s inside of them

There’s nothing they can or should change

So they might as well just accept it

They’re made perfectly

Scars or not

Acne or ugly skin

Curly hair or straight hair

Every person is unique

Every person is beautiful.

I do not hate myself

God created me for a reason

I am beautiful, because He does not create ugly things

I was created in the image of God,

and God is perfect

Therefore, I am perfect.

I can not change how I look

Makeup does not cover it up

It only adds shame.

I choose to embrace myself

Flaws, imperfections, and all.

I use makeup to enhance my beauty, not cover up

I am flawless in the way I perceive myself

I am not ugly, I am just right

The mind who thinks ugly is ugly

And I refuse to say

“I hate myself”.
