i guess ive always been a bit different

they eat food with a fork and a smile on their face

i eat numbers and beg tears to stay in their place

they laugh with their friends and smile into the sky

i hold my shoulders alone and plead for an answer to "why"

they dance and they sing and they grin and they giggle

i hardly take two steps without feeling my legs jiggle

they hold tight to their lovers with a tender embrace

ive broken hearts because mine doesnt seem to work at their pace

they can kiss with no problem and smile sweetly as they do

i sit and watch and wonder if i ever will too

they see faces and people the way they should be

i see thigh gaps and hip bones and wish they were me
