I Don't Write Poems.
Location
I don’t write poems.
To relay one’s thoughts
into an arrangement
of pompous words and
literary contrivances is awful.
To use calculated words
and chaotic stanzas
just to appear
aristocratic, artful, crafty is nugatory
While songs evoke emotion
with rhythm, tone, and lyrical melodies
And while novels are imaginative
with their storylines and prophecies
A poem, however,
is a sea of unfinished thoughts,
Gimmicky words jumbled together,
A way to showcase vernacular expertise
but offer no real essence.
Poems defy the rules of grammar,
Who decided they,
to be above such decrees?
Poems lack plot, message, fabric.
Are they to be up to interpretation?
or is it that they have no
universal elucidation?
This is exactly why I don’t write poems.
