I Don't Want a Nice Life

I don’t want a normal life.

I don’t want employers,

second-rate jobs or good paying jobs,

pain-in-the-butt-days nor perfectly planned days,

I don’t want nice cars,

2.2 children,

a quintessential “perfect” husband,

a “nice” house,

a lifetime of studying,

or a lifetime of never learning.

Here’s what I want: to wake up every morning,

look into the eyes of the ones I love,

and be surprised and thankful for all life gives me:

the imperfections, reflections, and inimitable love.
