I Can Say That I'm Sad Only So Many Times

I open myself to pain, I invite
suffering to rest within my bones
heartache to fortify my chest
misery to pool in the hollows beneath my eyes.
Can you hear the cracking of my ribcage
as it makes way
for
loneliness?
