I Believe
PART I:
just.
one.
breath.
For that is all it takes
-In and out-
To escape the chaos
and relieve the doubt.
PART II:
Should the depths of the sea
be ten thousand leagues
and the pot call the kettle black
then the groundhog should fear
the blazing burden
a-resting upon his back,
For if I never wake
amongst the glow
and walk with a lack of desire
my dreams be gossamer
my beliefs be jocular
for these well-oiled gears never tire
But come the time
that seasons beget
from this slumber I might awaken,
and back to the source
of all my remorse
kicking and screaming, I’m taken.
Oh, to he who is blind
in a world of color
I envy your beautiful innocence
Alas!
No matter the roots
we all are obtuse
One certainty, I swear, I believe in.
