I Am the Way I Am

Location

I am made the way I was meant to be made.

I don’t need any silicone to come to my aid

I don’t want to be pampered, let alone be tampered

so go ahead and scamper and make me a happy camper

People are starting to make my handkerchief damper

telling me things like “You need to be tanner.”

or "You've put on weight."

Since when did I need to be raided, persuaded, and degraded?

I don’t need any fancy braids

or any jewels laid in a rare shade of jade

I would rather trade all of that to fade

Fade away rather than be afraid

of the next brigade that will come my way

I am made the way I was meant to be made.
