I Am A Slave

I am a slave

To our world's ways

As my nation sold

My very soul

They buried themselves

Under a pile of green

And took me along

To pay for their deeds

Now barely breathing

I and my future generations

Must dig my nation out

With broken and bloody hands

I am a slave

To this weight on my shoulders

And people attached to my ankles

As they take away my freedom

They drag me down

Slowly and surely

Until I right their wrong

While they sit prettily

I can't fight back

I can't run

I'm just one person against many

I am a slave
