I Am My Poetry

The words I speak

Yes, they sing through me

Whether loud or whether silent

I am my poetry

My words don't shoot bullets

But they catch you by surprise

Their intent isn't to kill you

But they murder all lies

See, my words won't fight you

But they will make you think

My words aren't stereotypical

I am my poetry

My words stand by themselves

They don't need an explanation

The words I speak are so exclusive

They need a reservation

I don't need anybody to tell me who I am

The words I speak define me

They are my daily song

Like I told you before, I am my poetry

Its every beat of my heart

It pumps through every vain

Words are birthed in my soul

They soothe every nerve in my brain

Me without poetry is like a bird without it's chirp

It helps make me strong

It puts the biggest smile on my face

Poetry is my song

I'd be like a child without a home

Like a hive without a bee

Or a pig without mud

I am my poetry
