I Am a Light In the Darkness

I Am a Light in the Darkness

I am of the few called to fight,

the unending battle of lives taken to soon.

I can't always change that fact of life,

but I train and try every time.

I am the one you call when

the Grim Reaper knocks on your door.

No matter the day, no matter the hour

I will come to save you and yours.

I am of the few who care.

I spend sleepless nights going here and there

on an empty stomach filled with only caffine.

But I've trained hard and praticed twice to be the best

with what little I have.

I am in EMS.

Also known as the big truck with the flashy lights.

We have lots of names but we're all the same

Fighting the same battle, winning the same wars.

When you see us coming please pull to the right

never know next time we might be coming to your aid.
