I am the Future of this Place

Hundreds of years have passed in thee,
Not only by white but the red shed with scream.
We fight for our freedom and now it's my turn.
I am the future of this place.

I see men and women standing with pride,
That they grew up in a place much simpler than I.
Although times now are complex, I do not fear.
I am the future of this place.

Martin, George, Abraham, and Alice.
Heroes of differing generations.
I take account that I could be next.
I am the future of this place.

We hear words of equality, love, or peace,
But do they exist here in the red white and blue?
If they are not now, I know what I can do.
I am the future of this place.
