I am Free

I feel so free!

Oh my God, I am free!

There is no reservation in the words that I write

There is no tongue biting in the thoughts that I speak

I am so unstoppable not even Denzel could stop me –

I said not even Denzel could stop me.

Not my teachers, not my mother, not my enemies, not my friends, not my peers,

I said no one.

No one can stop me.

Do you hear me?

I said that I am free!

No justification given to no one but me.

You see I am my competition, I am my enemy, I am my motivation

Call me cocky but once I picked up that pen and paper

Oh man, I became free.

You see, nothing could limit me,

Nothing could stop me.

I began to realize how brilliant I am, how empowered I became,

And how great my future is destined to be.

Call me cocky but once I picked up that pen and paper

Oh man, I became free.

In a world so cruel and communities oh so fooled,

That pen and paper gave me a sense of belonging,

A way to escape, a heart full of ache and a soul ready to awake.

Call me cocky but once I picked up that pen and paper,

Oh man, I became free.

In a world full of trapped souls and nonexistent spirits

I refuse to be sleep, I refuse to be unfulfilled

I am here to be heard, I am here to empower

I never knew I was so outgoing and so outstanding

Call me cocky but once I picked up that pen and paper

Oh man, I became free.

Do you hear me?

I said I am free!

Oh my God, I really am free –
