I am a broken promise,

I am a broken promise,

A disappointment hidden underneath,

I am the words you don't speak,

The ones you try to hide behind your teeth,

I am the name that you try to forget everytime you whine,

I am a phrase from all those books you read, I was your favorite line,

Sadness took over where you stood,

You left with no written goodbyes,

We didn't make any excuse,

Excuses are poorly dressed lies,

I'll leave the lights on evey night,

So you'd have shelter in the dark,

This time I won't let you have your way,

So you could never fall apart.

Our world
