I Am Beautifully Flawed

Location

stroke of brush

paint drips down,

down until color runs thin

a bulb is formed

fingers run lazily,

dazedly over the imperfection

imperfect

perfect is opinion

flawless is a flaw

I think biased thoughts.

I say stupid things.

My body is too thin.

My hair is unkempt.

I do not use makeup.

I wear sweatpants to class.

My eyesight is diminishing.

My skin is covered in stretch marks.

dazed

quietly passing pencil between fingers

not touching paper

mindful of the inner world

one voice is heard

noises surround,

pound against bone

tearing wallpaper

stroke, drip, bulb

one voice my own

one body stands

I am not flawless.

I am flawed.

I am beautifully flawed.

I am special.

I stand up for Myself.

I rely on Myself.

I listen to Myself.

I am strong for Myself.

I love my flawed Self.
