In this cold world money defines who you are,
Whether you like it or not.
To me college was just a dream,
An obvious long shot.

Mami and Papi always told me,
No one can take away your education,
However in our society it’s filled,
With lots of negative temptation.

On the streets of P-Way, NB, Newark, & Camden,
You’re crazy if you dream.
But in the 7th grade because of my hard work,
I was accepted into a large team.

It was the Rutgers Future Scholars family, 
Forever united & strong.
Like Common & Will.i.am singing their "I have a dream" song.

Nosotros tenemos un sueño, tratamos de cumplirlo.
El orgullo nadie los quita, 
tratamos de lucirlo.

Porque somos latinos y somos unidos. 
Luchando aquí en los Estados Unidos.

RFS promise us hope, summer courses, a free college tuition.
All I have to do is get good grades, apply to RU & gain admission.

In NJ over million children live under the poverty line,
But shouldn't that be a crime. 
Rutgers is changing the future of our communities one scholar at a time.

I am Tiffany Diana Angeles,
I am proud Latin American
I am a part of those million kids,
I am a child of immigrant parents, 
I am the first in my family to attend college.

BUT BESIDES MY OBSTACLES,
I am a first & foremost a Rutgers Future Scholar.

Every time someone told me that I couldn’t,
Everyday someone told me that I shouldn’t.
The Rutgers Future Scholars
Program told me that I can.

BECAUSE I AM forever & always shall be A RUTGERS FUTURE SCHOLAR.

Long will I dream, believe, succeed.
