I Am

I am Kiersten.

I eat ten teryaki, chicken wings in one sitting,

Including the Bleu Cheese dressing that sits on the side.

I own seven pairs of sweatpants,

One for each day of the week.

I have an ice cold flat iron;

It still smells of new ceramic.

I buy my mascara at Dollar General

Next to the cheap, red nail polish

And I put it on whenever I damn well please.

I wash my face with Dove Soap,

And brush my teeth

And look in the mirror

And I smile at myself.

A real smile,

Not one of those smiles that some girls make

To see if their smile is worth making.

I see a girl who loves her face and her entire being,

I am Beautiful.

No, I am not conceded,

I am not cocky,

I am not broke,

Nor am I made of money.

I am however, rich;

Rich in who I am.

I am Beautiful.

And where I stand,

And where I have been,

Is more than I can ask for.

I demand respect, admiration, acceptance

But I will not crumble under what all of soceity wants of me.

I will prosper through what I want from myself.

I am Kiersten.
