I Am From

I am from the softball fields.

From the itchy grass and the smell of wet dirt.

I am from the local park and playground, exciting, loud and busy!

I am from the dance studios, from dancing folkorco to cumbias with family.

I am from making tamales and spicy chile with my grandmoter.

Too baking chocoflan with my momma.

I am from the in the famly reunion jokes and dancing "Payaso de Rodeo" to my mom yelling, REALLY SAMANTHA and saying, '"ponte vicks ayi"

I am from Mexican decent, enchiladas and michiladas!

From the nickname 5er that has carried on from my tia Sonia, to the loud cheering on the softball field.

In my cabinet are photo albums worth 17 years of memories.

My greatest influence is my family, I am a Torres and proud to be!
