I am from

I am from the light blue house on Dakar Road West,

Where the smell of fall candles filled the air

all year ‘round.

I am from whoopie pies and puppy chow.

Hearing “Let’s go bucks!”

Starting every saturday morning when the leaves turned golden.

I am from the 2006 Hyundai Sonata

That later became mine when I turned 16.

I am from the blaring of Red Hot Chili Peppers

And Jim Morrison,

Being the kid with the oldest music taste in school.

I am from the town of Westerville

While spending every weekend in Sydney.

Going to the Spot to get the “Mamaw Polly” special :

Old Fashioned Cream Pie

I am from the two of us.

Josh and I.

That soon turned to the three of us.

Josh, Holly, and I.

When the family began to expand from there.
