I Am...

I am a story teller

I have been lying to your faces for as long as I can remember

Tailoring tales that suit your need for excitement,

Feeding off of your thirst for enlightenment,

Enjoying your astonished stares as I weave my web of wonder.

Slowly, word by word- I am able to pull you under,

Make you forget that things like this don’t happen in real life,

But for a few moments, you forget everything and focus, on me.

I am a magician,

given the most mystical of missions- or quests if you will.

My power is that of creation, I am able to devise plots, characters, and

tangible emotions, and with just a few words, I can kill-your hero, shatter

your soul, leave the corpse of your wishes and dreams discarded and cold on

the sidewalk of forgotten hopes.

I am a Mastermind

I have cracked the codes that no one knows, I have hacked the firewall to your

heart, revealing your darkest secrets and awakening your primal need for more.

I alone have solved the complex equation, to which the end result is an

encrypted password, when the answer was always as simple as looking down.

I am a Doctor

I use my scalpel to cut metaphors out of dead words and transplant them into

my patients to give them life. I make miracles out of blank sheets of parchment

and I alone can administer the daily dosage of pen crafted prescriptions necessary

to sustain your insatiable spirit.

I am a Dreamer

I spend copious amounts of time fabricating fictional futures, and

scintillating scenarios like the ones in the books I read using the word

scintillating. I dream of triumph, and despair, I dream of the cruel and the

fair, I compile all of my thoughts, hallucinations and ambitions, I combine my

laughter, heart beat and feelings, and put them on paper.
