I Am Like...

I am like a mockingbird swinging in the breeze

Singing songs of other birds, but always cheerfully.

I dream of making my own song and hearing it through the trees

But first I learn from the best of the birds and wait anxiously

I am like a daisy, cheerful yet not quite elegant.

I am frank and hearty, and growing strong

Seeking the light of the sun’s rays sent

By One who sends the summers long

I am like a wandering road, leading to new places

Staying a while in every one, then leading out again

Stops are many on my way,as I remember  family-like faces

And the sweet familiar graces, that touched my life so gently

Wondering when and where this road will end,

I pause to collect myself and...

Find another friend!
