I AM
I am my father’s son
For he who came before me hath done
The same things I do here today:
To work, to play, to fish in the bay..
I am a student of political thought
I sit, I read, I think: “what ought?”
I am friend to many, yet few
I listen, I talk, I help them pull through.
I am a brother to two younger than I
I teach, I challenge, I don’t always comply.
I am coach to a baseball team
I inspire, I better, I build the dream.
I am a food enthusiast, I must say
I eat, I eat, I eat all day.
But most importantly, I am still a kid
I make mistakes, I learn, I aim to rise above the mid.
