I

I wake up and see an angel. I am sorry that I was not there for when you were born. I hear you cry because you are starving. I tried my best to be the dad you always wanted. I cry because I have no job. I collected money for you to go to college. Until your mom stole it all. Your mom is locked in a county facility. Now I have a house with only a chair that sits in the corner. I tried to do the best for you and be the best mommy too. Your mommy left and so did you with CPS. Now the angel I see is you in my dreams. I live right across the street from you and I stand in a dark room. I see you across the street through my old window and do nothing. Afraid to talk to you. Ashamed to approach you. I’m writing a letter that I will never give to you.
