Hurt Me Again

You hurt me in ways I can’t even explain,

And now I wish that I never even bothered to ask you your name.

You put me through so much pain,

And  your personal enjoyment was the only thing for you to gain.

You wanted to see how much you would be able to put me through,

Before I was able to finally let go of you.

Thanks to you, I will never get hurt again,

Because I am no longer going to open up and try to make anyone my friend.

I thought you were one of the best people to come along,

But now I finally see that I got it all wrong.

People like you only care about how to help yourself,

And you don’t care about anyone else.

Just like before, now I see why there is no one that I trust,

Because they’ll only pretend to care, until they don’t need you anymore, and then they’ll leave you

in the dust.

This time I put my trust in someone who I thought would never hurt me,

And now I must go back to the way that things used to be.

Picking up the pieces one by one,

And realizing that I truly do not have anyone.

Knowing that there is no one there for me in my time of need,

Because they all sat back and watched while I continued to bleed.

The fighter in me knows that I can not stop,

Because they would love to see me fail, and not be able to rise to the top.

What’s cute is that they really thought I would give them that power,

But without some rain, then the seed would never be able to turn into a flower.

Just like everyone else, you let me down,

But I am no longer going to be the bigger person, and it is your turn to drown.
