Human Trafficking: The Silent Victims

Recruitment

Exploitation

It is a never ending cycle

First they’re taken

Moved to wherever they are needed

Then are beat until they are so vulnerable gang leaders don’t need to make sure they work

But this isn’t just some product produced in a factory

It is a girl, a mother, a sister, a child

A person

2 million people are sold into sex slavery each year.

That’s the number of people living in New Mexico,

That’s the number of people who could make a difference in the world,

And a large number of people seen only as a service…

Not as people, or something with value.

Just something to use.

Most of these sex slaves are women.

Their captors break them down through humiliation and violence.

And when their self esteem is crushed and all hope is gone,

Force is no longer needed to control them.

Poverty is the incubator

Gangsters are the instigators

Parents trade their babies for money to buy food

Runaways are lured and sold away to places unknown,

Alone, no language, no family, no life, stolen future

Lies, threats, false promises, debt bondage, manipulation; tools of recruitment

Fake visas, stolen passports make international transportation easy

Returning home impossible

Like a moth to a flame

It’s a never ending game to escape the criminal rings of the world

Speak out and you may get burned

Say nothing and live in fear

While the problems are kept from being overturned

In this sick sad world such as this

These people need to heard

And have some type of hope

For

Ambition

Freedom
