Human Ignorance

Tue, 12/20/2016 - 12:02 -- ACME

The birds call out to us and the whales sing from the depths,

What has the world become? We can hardly take breath,

Our air is smog and our water is black,

We depend on oil, which depends on frack,

Our trees hit the ground and only a few hear,

America does not listen to our tears,

Our Earth is crumbling beneath us like cake,

Yet we still think we've made no mistake,

But the creatures of land and sea know better,

None of us can survive this weather,

So yet again they call and plead,

And we still refuse fall to our knees,

How ignorant are we?

How ignorant will we continue to be?

Well this is the answer that I hear,

Our forests continue to disappear,

Our water is becoming mud,

We continue to spill inocent blood,

Species are still going extinct,

And we still haven't made the link.
