How One Job May Change A Life

Thanks for the car mom and dad

But I need more money for gas

I'm still mad that you made me take out the trash

Thanks for letting play soccer

But my cleats are old, I need a new pair

Please don't ask me to vacuum the stairs

"Don't complain

Get a job," they said

I'll never have to do chores again

Hey mom and dad

I'm back from my first day at work

I'm gonna tell you 'bout how my boss is a jerk

He kept me constantly busy cleaning

For three hours straight

And I barely made enough to pay for my date

I now understand

All the hard work that you've done

To pay for me to have some fun

I'm going to keep my new job

And continue doing chores

Don't worry about paying me, that moneys all yours
