It's funny how it all works
I had it all planned out
We broke up I moved on
I focused on myself and no one else
I bumped into a few strays here and there
But deep inside I knew they were going nowhere
I had it good I had it planned
Then I tripped on a pearl underneath the sand
She was a surprise
From the moment we locked eyes
I knew she was someone I could not deny

My heart ached for her
My body craved her
My thoughts the wondered

It was eight months ago I vowed not to fall for a single soul
but this girl you see
Is someone special
she I choose not to let go
Now weeks till I must bid her adu
I think to myself, Damn I don't want to leave you

The thoughts that haunt me I fear to say
Will you still want me from far away
I know inside I'm willing to try
But I won't hold you if you deny
Of course I'll fight
For her I must
To me this is something deeper than lust

My heart it beats the rythme that is her
Her Beauty, her smarts, her simple existence
All of which I don't want to live without
Don't try to tell me it's a phase
She will not be easily erased
For every thought that I think
She's the first, the last before I go to sleep

So tell me love what is it you feel
Do you see this being something real
It's okay don't be afraid
Speak to me the truth
I won't turn the other way
Know I'll be here
If we choose to part
Just know you've gained a piece of my heart

Now see how funny it is
How it all works
I wanted no one
Now all I want is her
