How far? How far have we come?
Freedom riders and the freedom rides on, what lie are we living in when discrimination's still strong.
Love with more hatred and we wonder why theres no justice. Its the participants of our nation that dont understand what trust is.
Trust in another race, another man, another person. No equality is found in this mass confusion. Freedom rides, with the cost being lives. Is this truly what we had hoped for, all the effort we put in,
in order to survive? He had a dream but the dream only came true with time. But will only continue being respected by our rhyme. Dr. Mlk jr. Was given the lime. But what about Fanny Lou Hammer, Ello Jo Baker, Bayard Rustin, and the underground minds? Those that created the civil rights cause, that organized the march that recieved our applause. That finally drew the mass media attention, even from the winner of the presidential election. It seemed from here that civil rights was heading in only one direction. The respect wasnt given to one but many racial sections. But still, what has really advanced, theres still racial rants and tension, and the KKK that dance
Disrespecting a cross, and disrespecting the greatest loss. So are we as a people lost and not found? The future really all that sound, with the past being so profound. We're only left to fight for our rights into the next round.

Thank you.
