That Horrible Turn

It was a cold and bitter morning
She had just woke up,
It was icy and snow had just fallen;
Things might be different now, if it
wasn’t for that horrible turn.

It happened so fast, it cannot be real
It is all but a daze now,
It doesn’t seem like she could be gone;
Things might be different now, if it
wasn’t for that horrible turn.

One second she is fine and then next she is gone;
My world in only a second had fallen apart
When I saw her on her side, I about died;
Things might be different now, if
it wasn’t for that horrible turn.

She was just lying there helplessly,
I was supposed to protect her from this
I felt like I had let her down;
Things might be different now, if
it wasn’t for that horrible turn.

When I finally realized what was done
I couldn’t stop thinking she was really gone,
She was out of my life before her time;
Things might be different now, if
it wasn’t for that horrible turn.

Now it has been a few months
And she is only but a memory,
But that does not stop me from thinking
About her and how she left a mark on my heart;
Things would be different, if it
wasn’t for that horrible turn.

This is a poem about an accident I had my senior year. I am actually speaking about my car that I totaled and fortunately not a person that I lost.
