" Hope in Tears"
I look into children's eyes seeing stories that are untold but seem to hold horrors unknown. I hear silent screams pleading for help when there is none . I look around me to behold the ghastly, life sucking, disease caring living conditions they call home. Tears stream down my face and my soul shatters. I feel every piece of my heart breaking for these innocent lives. They have done nothing wrong, they have done nothing to warrent this unforgivable punishment. My knees weaken and fall to the floor. These children that have so little run to my side asking me if im ok. Do i need help? I look into their eyes once more seeing something i missed entirely. these miracles maybe deprived, however they live lives to the fullest. They know they won't last long. They live by this phenomenal code that cares for those no matter what their status may be. They may live in a world that is unclean, untouched, unwashed, yet they have better vaules than we do. It's time for a change in this world. It's time for all of us to help these amasing souls live a better life. it's time for us to learn to be better people as well. It's time for us to learn what it means to have nothing yet everything. My heart breaks for these young souls, yet their hearts breaks for me to. I did not know the meaning of "being a people of one" till now. I have so much to learn form them and so much i could and will give back. I thank you and your beautiful young souls, for you have taught me that of which is no longer taught in this world. By: Kylee Janae Brooks
