Hope After Winter

Wrongs

Blind me to the point of exhaustion

Hurt done to me, faults of my own

But then a hug,

A kindness, a voice opens

my eyes to the amazing

Family related by bonds not

blood. Stronger and more

caring than

that of DNA

Holding hands in

the hopeful glow

of the dogwood's small

pink blossoms

Remindig each other how

to open up and trust again in the returning

sun after winter leaves

us once

again
