Hope

Sat, 03/26/2016 - 23:54 -- JLiv

Hope is the commodity that fuels business and dreamers and churchgoers,

And honestly - I've never lost hope on the pathway of my odyssey.

Truthfully - My mind is a wishing well - I'd say that I'm an oddity,

Modestly - I'd boast that I'm a visionary, prodigy.

Honestly - I have to speak the truth into existence,

Hope is the basis, the very foundation of my vision,

JLIV'S VISION cannot be turned into fruition,

If I never take a chance to sit down and view the vision.

Truthfully- Human beings cannot live without hope!

You'd have to lose your soul, be detached from the globe,

If you ever lose scope of the mission that we're on!

Hope is the fuel that even empires live on!

Modestly, we're lost stars trying to light up the night,

We're really false gold trying to live up to the hype,

But we've seen people make it - the roses from the pavement,

Show us we can have hope, and that we, too, can make it.

But we will soon see if hope is the commodity - that will grow our wings,

And give us motivation to be the leaders that we need,

To ensure that we really be all we can be -

Even if what we can be is still as flawed as you and me.

We can rise above the madness and be more than lost stars in these streets.

But if the roses are still lost stars then we may never see,

Elevation or live up to the hype that we dreamed and we hoped,

Would come to us - lost stars, attempting to show that we aren't bleak.

Presently, I'm not adverse to hoping until I'm seventy,

For progress in my mind, in my world, and my community,

Eventually I know that we will see the peace and unity,

But until that time I will be hoping for opportunity.

We need hope -  because hope needs us.

If we don't have hope, hope can't help us.

Because we are all the same, and we are all lost stars,

Shoutout to hope, the human race, and to all of our flaws.
