Hope

Hope is a precious and delicate thing, like so many treasures are.
You must put your faith in hope,
you must cling tight to it near or far.

Hope is not something to hide like an ugly scar,
It is the very foundation of the world, without it how could we cope?
Hope is a precious and delicate thing, like so many treasures are.

Do not give it away, like a drunkard at a bar,
It is the passion that can drive us, a glimpse of our future through the scope
Hope completes us, makes us stronger, you must cling tight to it near or far

Hope alone cannot fight your battles, You can't wish upon a star
Hope cannot turn the tide away, it will slide down the slope
You must put your faith in hope, you must cling tight to it near or far.

And yet if you release hope, darken the star
You are giving away all that you ever had, letting go of the rope.
You must cling tight to it near or far.
Hope is a precious and delicate thing, like so many treasures are.
