HOPE

Location

There is one thing, one thing I say,
That keeps me going everyday.
It’s not a drink or special food,
It’s not a thought or certain mood.
It’s a word– one small word.
Four letters does it have, not three.
Now, don’t expect a word like FREE,
For it is not an extra-sweet or soothing sounding word.
This word is HOPE!
Hope has made me carry on!
It bids me, “March!” It tells me, “Go!”
Through rain or hail or sleet or snow.
What other word can do this task?
Perhaps LOVE, but even that may bring me sorrow.
No, hope has made me rise today, and will make me rise tomorrow.
