Homelessness

Thousands of people are living on the streets and we walk by them everyday, not paying any attention to them. We want nothing to do with them so we act like they're not there. When they ask you for money, you say, "I don’t have any" when you really do or we walk around them not noticing them; we look down at the ground so we don’t have to see them. They don't have any money to buy food so don't be stingy, spare a couple bucks so they can go get a sandwich somewhere.

It surprises me how many people ignore the suffering of others, especially when it’s staring them right in the face.

“Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed.” -Proverbs 19:17. This is something we should all start living by. We see homelessness as a disease and we don’t want to talk to them or get near them. Homelessness is more than mental issues, substance abuse, and drug addiction.

Becoming homeless can happen to anyone it just isn’t expected. One day you could be living in a house and the next thing you know you are being evicted because you can’t pay rent or the mortgage. The only thing between success and defeat is a paycheck. More and more people are facing homelessness and housing problems everyday.
